This magazine cover mock-up was designed as a key prop in a short film titled, The Sunnyside. Throughout the film, eggs, in many forms, play an important role in the story of a man's life. In the beginning we see the man, as a boy, reading Humpty Dumpty. Near the end of the film he has grown, gone through countless hardships, and at his darkest hour is seen reading Hump. What comes around goes around.
This logo, branding, website and signage were designed for Tim Close Consulting. A newly formed consulting company, founded by a retired Coast Guard Captain. Being a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the logo is a play on the silhouette of a ship in a similar outline of the diamonds in the Steeler's crest. The Website is very visual and the content is brief and to the point. I made the signage by hand as a thank you for letting take on the branding. Every aspect, including the vinyl cutting was done by myself, by hand.
Here is an assortment of logos I've designed over the years. Some are better than others but they all have a story, strategy and reason for being up here, so take a look.
This project was conceptualized after it was announced that The Coca-Cola Company had purchased a large share of Green Mountain Coffee, the owner of Keurig. These examples advertise the idea that Coke would begin selling Coke K-cups in order to compete with the growing popularity of the Soda Stream. Playing off Coke's popular tagline -- Open Happiness. This campaign entices the viewer to instead -- Make Their Own Happiness.
These label and tags are an assortment of works done for my far better half. Together we run a food blog called tinyolivekitchen.com. These were done as holiday gifts and commissioned items.
This project was a group collaboration for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). Our client was Mary Kay and the task was to help Mary Kay best appeal to a younger demographic. Our work was cut out for us, if the target had even heard of the brand, their image of the company was very poor. We developed a fully-integrated approach and created a millennial sub-brand that was built upon Mary Kay's current infrastructure. You can, and you should, read the entire plans book here.
This movie poster was designed for idependent film, Monty Comes Back. Produced and Directed by Thomas John Nudi. This film and poster were shown at the 2016 Sarasota Film Festival. This poster was designed to pitch a new radio show for Bulls Radio, the college radio station for the University of South Florida. The premise of the show was to trace the linage and inspirations of a different artist each week, focusing on what music influenced them to come up with their unique sound. Based off of Milton Glaser's iconic Dylan poster, we see Jay-Z's silhouette instead, reinforcing the idea that all modern music and artists come from past generations work.
This project was designed for Biggs Design Group, a Sarasota-based interior design firm. It was featured in the 2016 resource issue of Home & Design Magazine. Design, copywriting and layout done by Steven.
Selection of birthday invitations done for family and friends. There's something comforting about not simply going to the store and buying something off the rack but instead taking the time to make it yourself.
